The 1983 U.S. Championship

£5.00

Chess Enterprises Inc, 1983. 135pp,  algebraic notation.  Tight copy, almost as new, but a few grubby marks to back cover.

Fourteen of the highest rated players in the United States gathered in July 1983 to compete in a Round Robin tournament to determine the United States Chess Champion.  This is a round-by-round account of that event, with the scores of all of the games an d annotations to the decisive games by the 1983 Co-Champion.  Round-by-round commentary is provided by NM Jeremy Silman, who was present as Jay Whitehead's second.  Photographs and artist's drawings provide a view of the contestants in action.
